  • PRIORITY: We give to God first as an act of worship and gratitude for all he has given us.
  • PERCENTAGE: We give based on the Biblical model of the tithe, which is a percentage-based amount of what God has blessed us with.
  • PROGRESSIVE: We give in a way that grows our faith and makes eternal investments.

We want every single person to take his or her nextright step in discipleship and generosity. FOR isn't about staying on the sidelines.
It's all about getting in the game and making a difference in the lives and commuities that surround us.

Secondary Goal:

$11.5 Million

Through the FOR inititive, we want to fund our three major priorities:

For our church: $9 Million

This represents the ongoing mission of our church through the 2024 collective facility operations budget for all locations and congregations, including kids and student programs, facility functions, ministry budgets, and ongoing operations.

For our community: $1.1 Million

This represents our outreach and mission efforts and partnerships locally, regionally, and globally.

For california/baja california: $1.4 Million

This represents our church planting, multiplication, and permanent location efforts in both California and Baja California.

Be at our service

An integral part of FOR journey is attending our weekly services, in person or online. Our weekly service is the heartbeat of our church community, offering opportunities to grow in faith, meet new people, and be encouraged and challenged with messages that relate to how we walk out our Jesus life. Our sermon series will vary throughout the year and cover timely topics with God-centered wisdom, practical applications, and a lot of fun. We offer age-appropriate programs for kids from birth-elementary, as well as Middle and High School programs.

Join a Group

Life is better on a team! Growth Groups are not just part of our year-long FOR journey, but really the heartbeat of Imperial Beach Church. Growth Groups run throughout the year and are designed to help connect you with people in the same age, stage, and interest. Groups can meet in living rooms, coffee shops, on campus, on a hiking trail, or over a meal. We've got guided discussion questions to help facilitate growing in faith, and the resulting depth of friendships and community make participating in a Growth Group a life-changing choice.

Our FOR journey is centered on the idea of examining what it is we stand for as a community. We want to be a force for positive change in the areas we live, work, play, and we want our neighborhoods to be different because of our presence. To that end, we have ongoing service projects where you, your family and friends can sign up to participate in serving in various ways. We have opportunities no matter your schedule, interest, and capability. There are so many ways to serve and make a difference in our communities and show up FOR the good and benefit of others.

Financial Commitment

The FOR initiative is rooted in the desire to impact our churches, neighborhoods, cities, and the world and a key component of that is the financial ability to invest in those spaces. By linking arms with hundreds of other members of our church community, we will be able to make a massive difference in projects close to home, and across the globe. Generosity, and how we view and treat our money, is central to the mission of Jesus to use our blessings to bless others. We invite you to prayerfully consider joining this initiative by investing your resources.

We invite you to join us as we pray for the FOR initiative. Anything this big and requires big faith and a constant trust in God. We would love to partner with you in prayer for the people, projects, and purposes of this initiative. We pray for changed hearts, changed lives, an outpouring of generosity of resources, and that through our collective efforts we can make a difference in the places that we are FOR: our homes, churches, communities, cities, and the world.

Daily devotional

As part of our FOR journey, we will have a daily devotional that accompanies the weekly sermon series and offers you a chance to reflect on the message, apply it to your life, and dive deeper into God's word and wisdom for your life. The Daily Devotional is written by a group of volunteers from our churches who are walking this same Jesus journey. This is a great way to grow in faith, spend a few minutes with God each day, and take the next step into hearing his voice and being reminded of his love and care for you.
