Wildfire Response

Care Requests and Ways You Can Help

If you or someone in our community has been affected by the fires, please use the form below to let us know how we can assist. If you’d like to help those impacted, you can also use the same form. A church staff member will follow up with you shortly after you complete the form.

Work Entry

1. Give

You can make a gift to The Christmas Offering through the end of this month. The Christmas Offering fund supports disaster response efforts and other emerging needs within our communities.

Additionally, you can bring any of the following items to our church locations in Chula Vista, Torrey Pines, or Rolando this Sunday. These items will be delivered to disaster response locations in Los Angeles within the next few days:

  • Bottled water
  • Canned or dry goods (please box these in advance)
  • Diapers (all sizes)
  • Hand wipes and disinfectant wipes
  • Feminine hygiene products

If you're in the Los Angeles area:
Drop off ONLY the listed items at Venice Church on Monday, January 13th, from 12 PM - 6 PM, or Tuesday, January 14th, from 12 PM - 6 PM. Use the entrance on the Walgrove side; items will be stored in our community room for distribution. Please ensure items are boxed, if possible.

2. Provide Housing

If you have temporary or longer term housing that might be available for members of our community who have been displaced by the fires, please email [email protected] with the specifics of what you’re able to offer.

3. Care Resources

Our friends at Vintage Church LA have created a helpful document with care resources and other useful information for those impacted by the fires. Click here to access the resource list.

4. Pray

Join us as we continue to pray for those impacted by the fire. You can pray such things as:

  • For those who have lost loved ones in the fire, that they would be comforted by God’s presence during this difficult time.
  • For those who have lost homes or businesses in the fire, that they would find hope and encouragement in Jesus as they process their loss and begin the recovery process.
  • For the first responders and public servants who continue to battle the fire, that they would remain safe and be successful in their efforts.
  • For our church and the churches in our movement to bring love, hope, and encouragement to those who are suffering in this time of terrible loss.

Thank you for joining us in bringing love, encouragement, and hope to our friends, neighbors, and family members in the Los Angeles area.
