Love big energy and little learners? The PreK Ministry Coordinator (PMC) helps build momentum in our 3-year-old through Transitional Kindergarten ministry by turning vision into fun, engaging, and meaningful experiences. Working closely with the PreK Ministry Pastor, the PMC brings organization, creativity, and joy to weekly services, special events, and volunteer teams.
This role leads and oversees the 3’s–TK classroom environment — ensuring every child feels welcomed, safe, and excited to learn about Jesus. From recruiting and supporting volunteers to helping execute curriculum and events, the PMC plays a key part in creating a vibrant, faith-filled experience for kids and families.

Hours:Up to 15 hours a week
Sunday 7:30am-2:30pm
Monday None
Tuesday 10:30am – 1:30 pm in office*
Wednesday 11:30am – 1:30 pm *If needed for prep or planning.
Thursday 5:30pm – 8:30 pm for COT/Rooted Season & TBD during Non-COT Season

*Expect exceptions to schedule.
*Some flex (as agreed upon by supervisor) but primarily on-site during work hours.

SCOPE & DIMENSIONS:
The Prek Ministry Coordinator is a key leader within our Kids Ministry Team, creating a safe, joyful, Jesus-centered environment where our littlest ones (ages 3–5) can experience God’s love, build friendships, and begin their spiritual journey. This role combines visionary leadership, team-building, and hands-on ministry with the energy, patience, and creativity needed to make church a place kids can’t wait to come back to.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Management: Manage assigned ministry rooms and volunteers during our service experiences on Thursdays and Sundays to ensure a smooth and effective operation.
Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead ministry volunteers (small group leaders, teachers, tech leaders, etc.), providing ongoing support and development to maintain a strong volunteer team.
Discipleship: Provide care for volunteers and families within the 3’s-TK Ministry, fostering spiritual growth and a sense of community.
Parent Partnership: Engage and collaborate with parents to support their children’s spiritual development, providing resources, communication, and opportunities for involvement.
Curriculum Development: Create, edit, and prepare the necessary curriculum for the 3’s-TK Ministry, ensuring it is engaging, age-appropriate, and aligns with the church’s mission and values.
Supply Management: Purchase and prepare the necessary elements and supplies for weekend services to ensure all materials are ready and available for effective ministry within budget.
Administrative Tasks: Complete the assigned administrative tasks and weekly ministry requirements, including leader scheduling, leader assimilation, and maintaining accurate records.
Policy Enforcement: Ensure all Eastlake Kids Ministry Policies and Procedures are followed to maintain a safe and secure environment for children and volunteers.
Event Assistance: Assist with designated EastLake Kids Ministry events, contributing to planning, attending, execution, and follow-up activities.
Meeting Participation: Attend designated in-person weekly ministry and monthly staff meetings to collaborate with team members and stay informed about church-wide initiatives and updates.
Set-Up and Tear-Down: In charge of set-up and tear-down the rooms used for ministry.
Support PreK Ministry Pastor: Assist the PreK Ministry Pastor with assigned responsibilities, providing additional support and leadership as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, with a personal relationship demonstrated through consistent lifestyle, character, and active participation in a local church.
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated experience building, recruiting, and developing teams — whether in ministry, nonprofit, education, or other organizational settings. Ability to identify, invite, onboard, and equip individuals to serve effectively within a shared mission.
- Skilled in creating systems and processes for team engagement, training, communication, and ongoing development. Able to cultivate ownership, accountability, and enthusiasm among team members.
- Proven ability to foster a culture where volunteers or team members feel valued, connected, and inspired by a greater purpose.
- Proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Experience in recruiting, processing, and training volunteers to support various ministry activities. Ability to identify and engage potential volunteers, fostering a sense of community and purpose
- General audio/visual knowledge preferred
- CPR/First-Aid Certification preferred
- Propresenter knowledge preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to actively engage with young children in classroom and activity settings, including sitting on the floor, kneeling, bending, and moving quickly when needed.
- Ability to lift and carry ministry supplies, equipment, or small children up to approximately 25–35 pounds.
- Ability to set up and tear down classroom environments, including moving tables, chairs, and activity materials.
- Frequent standing and walking during ministry programs and events.
- Ability to work in environments that may be loud, energetic, and fast-paced.
- Comfortable working in indoor and occasional outdoor settings, depending on programming needs.
- Availability to work weekends (especially Sundays), special events, and occasional evenings.
